ecoENERGY for Retrofit
Install a solar domestic hot water system that meets CAN/CSA Standards. = $1250
How do I apply?
1. Before you undertake any energy efficiency renovations, hire a Natural Resources Canada certified energy advisor to perform an energy evaluation of your home. The advisor will give you a pre-retrofit evaluation report and an EnerGuide rating label for your home.

2.Select your improvements and implement the recommended energy upgrades,
leaving time to ensure your post-retrofit evaluation is completed within 18
months or before March 31, 2011, (whichever comes first and subject to available
funding).
3.Call your energy advisor to perform your post-retrofit evaluation, to confirm
your new energy rating and to submit your grant application. Be sure to keep
your receipts to claim expenses that could be eligible under the Home Renovation
Tax Credit.
4.Wait 90 days from the date of your post-retrofit evaluation to receive your
cheque.
ecoENERGY for Renewable Heat
The ecoENERGY for Renewable Heat program runs from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2011. Incentives are offered to the industrial/commercial/institutional sector to install active energy-efficient solar air and/or water heating systems. Eligible projects must be completed and commissioned within nine (9) months of the signing of a contribution agreement with NRCan.
ecoENERGY for Renewable Heat will offer an incentive to industrial, commercial and institutional purchasers of solar heating systems. The incentive will be based on a rate per square metre of collector area
(Roth HelioStar = 2.52 m2) multiplied by a collector-specific
Performance Factor
(in progress of being determined) and
Incentive Rate.
The maximum incentive is $400,000 per solar water installation.
How do I apply?
Construction on your solar project may not begin until a Contribution Agreement is signed by NRCan and the applicant.
In the event that work has begun before the Contribution Agreement has been signed by both you and NRCan,
the agreement will be void and the incentive will not be paid
1. An ecoENERGY for Renewable Heat program application form must be completed, signed and sent to the program at the address below. If the application is completed by someone other than the applicant, this person must also sign the applicant form. Only completed applications will be processed. In the event that NRCan requires clarification about the data presented in this application, the Applicant will have 30 days to respond. If the data is not remitted within 30 days the file will be closed. A Guide is available to help this process.

2. Once the project is completed and commissioned, the applicant must submit a payment request using the Payment Request form provided by NRCan. The applicant must submit this payment request along with the Commissioning Report (a template is provided by NRCan) and the manufacturer’s warranty attesting to the authenticity of the collector. The applicant must submit these documents within 30 days of the commissioning date. Documents received following the 30 day limit will be wait-listed for processing. When these documents are received, reviewed, and approved by NRCan to the satisfaction of the Minister, payment of the incentive will be made.
