Newfoundland and Labrador EnerGuide for Houses
$300 towards the cost of a home energy efficiency audit,
which is currently $450-$500 for a home with up to 2,000 square feet of heated space,
while an audit on a larger home costs slightly more. The Provincial Government will also pay any transportation costs for auditors,
to ensure that rural customers do not have to pay any travel costs to get a home audit.
Up to a maximum of $1,500 in Provincial Government grants to top up
Federal Government ecoEnergy Retrofit Program grants
(maximum $5,000)

How do I apply?
1. Book an energy evaluation with a certified energy advisor by contacting one of the companies below:

2. With a list of recommendations to make your home more energy efficient along with details of the available
Federal ecoEnergy Retrofit Program grants.
The Province will pay its contribution of the audit cost directly.
The auditor will charge you only your portion of the cost.
3. The province will match the federal ecoEnergy Retrofit Program
grants for qualifying retrofit activities up to a maximum of $1,500
4. After you or your contractor completes the auditor recommended work from the initial audit, you need to arrange a
follow-up audit to confirm the work is done. After the final audit,
the auditor will help you to claim the federal and provincial grants for which you qualify.
You must make your claim within 18 months of the pre-audit. The auditor will also ask you to sign federal
grant application forms allowing the Federal Government to release your audit data and federal grant
confirmation to the Provincial Government. The Provincial Government will issue your grant after receiving that confirmation.
